2021Programme – Restricted events due to Covid

February 6th – Rebecca de Mendonca – Pastel Workshop of Dartmoor

Members are invited to use their own pastels. The demonstration will be recorded and a video will be available for members after the event to continue painting at their own convenience

February 27th – Zoom Demonstration Charles Evans – Painting of a Country Lane in Acrylics

Members can paint along with Charles.

 

March 16th at 10am – Chris Forsey – Zoom Demonstration of a Local Estuary Scene

As watercolour is difficult to demonstrate on an easel for zoom, Chris will paint this scene in acrylics. Approximate time  1hr 30 mins.  –

April 26th at 10am – Peter Keegan – Zoom Demonstration Painting Portraiture in Oils

Peter is a professional artist living and working in Buckinghamshire, specialising in portraiture. Approximate time 2 hrs.

May 12th at 10.30am –  -Rebecca de Mendonca Workshop – Pen and Ink with Charcoal and Pastel.

Members and Non Members £8

One of Rebecca’s aims of this session is to get us to experiment with different ways of drawing, and to find what works for us. Approx. time 1hour 30 mins

June – Dates to be agreed 10.00am – 2.00pm

With restrictions being relaxed to allow groups of six to meet outside we are hoping to organise a couple of plein air sessions in June, possibly at Wembury Beach at low tide.   Challenge for the day – don’t paint the Mewstone!

All covid rules to be adhered to.

Members to bring their own refreshments/ packed lunch.

September 25th – Michael Hill – Painting and Drawing Horses and Riders.

All day Workshop at Yealmpton Community Centre. Michael will be using Acrylic but he is happy for people to use a medium of their choice.

9th October –  Pop up Art Sale – Newton & Noss Village Hall, Noss Mayo

 

 

October 23rd – Celia Olson

Watercolour with a difference

The main media for this workshop will be watercolour, but Celia will showing participants how to create texture effects by adding various other media:  texture media, ink, pastels, drawing media, adding collage, and using items from kitchen cupboards and recycling box.  The emphasis will be on experimentation, taking advantage of ‘happy’ accidents and having fun.  More details.

 

 

December 3rd –

A visit to The Box, Plymouth to view the latest exhibition of Aboriginal Art – Songlines.

Meeting at The Box at 10.30am.
£10 entry, Concessions £7.50

There is a café there so those wishing to could stay for lunch.
